Last month a new billboard mural went up on the corner of 5th Ave and 85th Street. The colorful portrait, commissioned by the owner of Rock Paper Scissor (507 85th St.), is a tribute to East Coast and West Coast legends — the late Notorious BIG, Tupac Shakur, Real Pop Smoke and Nipsey Hussle. The mural’s Los Angeles based artist, Ruthless Creationz (@zermillion), told the 5th Ave Community Advocate that while passing through town he wanted to donate something special to shop owner Manny, who was the first person to let him paint their walls.
Ruthless Creationz is part of a nationwide tour with The Hoop Bus. The converted school bus featuring basketball hoops on its exterior, brings a portable ball court to each of its stops. Members of the tour aim to spread peace through the game they love. Read more about the Hoop Bus here.
