ABOUT US
The Bay Ridge 5th Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the vibrancy and vitality of 5th Avenue, from 65th to 85th Streets. We collaborate with property owners, merchants, residents, elected officials, and community organizations to strengthen our neighborhood’s economic, cultural, and civic life, creating a thriving commercial corridor that reflects the spirit of Bay Ridge.
OUR SERVICES
The Bay Ridge 5th Avenue BID works every day to make our neighborhood cleaner, safer, and more vibrant. From keeping streets clean and promoting local businesses, to hosting lively events, the BID supports the community and ensures the Avenue remains a thriving destination for residents, visitors, and merchants alike.
Supplemental Sanitation
Keeping the district clean, the BID provides seven-day-a-week sidewalk and gutter sweeping, snow shoveling, graffiti removal, and sidewalk and tree bed de-weeding.
Marketing & Events
From street festivals to holiday lighting, Small Business Saturday, Ramadan celebrations, and other seasonal events, the BID creates opportunities for community engagement and promotion.
Beautification
The BID enhances the avenue with decorative planters, benches, bike racks, banners, an annual holiday tree, street lighting, and public art, maintaining a vibrant and welcoming streetscape.
Advocacy
Working closely with city agencies and local officials, the BID represents the district’s needs and challenges, advocating for policies that support the community and its businesses.
Business Development
Supporting local merchants, the BID offers one-on-one technical assistance with social media, marketing, web design, and branding, while also guiding businesses through regulations and available resources.
